Artist's presentation

Giselle Beiguelman discusses her show “Quanto pesa uma nuvem?” (How heavy is a cloud?), held in the wake of her trip to Poland – the country of her family. Born into a Polish-Jewish family, the artist comments on the challenge of creating an exhibition that’s respectful of pain, one that operates in a sphere of delicateness and does not echo a history of trauma, in spite of the confrontation with a place that harbors histories and narratives of exclusion.
